Gold Finches and Blossom Needlepoint (tx600)
This is a very beautiful piece of needlepoint which has been worked in brightly coloured threads. It depicts two birds, probably finches, on branches of blossom against a pale blue background. The piece is oval in shape and has been finished with a cream gathered frill and baked with a pink fabric, all handsewn together. The colours are wonderful, so pretty and bold. The backing could be unstitched in part and a cushion pad added, thereby turning this into a stunning cushion for comfort and display on a favourite chair.
The needlepoint measures approximately 21" by 13.5". In excellent condition with a faint minor marking to the front.
