Victorian Oil Painting of Sweet Peas (pg521)
This is quite possibly, one of the most exquisite paintings of sweet peas we have seen to date. It is a beautifully painted study of a glass bowl filled with sweet peas, one of our favourite and fragrant garden flowers. The artist has captured the delicacy of the flowers and gentleness of the colours and the painting is an absolute delight to gaze upon. It dates to the late Victorian era and is painted on canvas. It is signed by the artist C E Hallam. The canvas is affixed to its original wooden stretcher and sits loosely within a complentary frame of the same era.
A superb painting for your vintage interior.
The frame is approximately 9.5" by 12". There is age-related wear to the frame. The painting has three small areas of paint loss but these do not detract from the extreme prettiness of this painting. Should you wish to reframe or display the canvas without a frame the size of the actual painting is 7" by 10".
